Casting Talent – mediatech

CASTING TALENTS:

Roles: Male & Female: Lead, Supporting, Extra & Stunt
Age Range: 3 to 70 years old
Background: All occupations and experience levels welcome. No prior acting experience required.
Language Requirement: Grab Boy is a six-part film series with 90% of the dialogue in Mandarin. Basic Mandarin proficiency is required for this project.

However, Mediatech is committed to producing films in multiple languages, including Malay, Tamil, and other local or international languages. We welcome talents of all races and language backgrounds.

You will still be part of our talent pool. All applicants will be added to the Mediatech Crew Hub database and may be considered for future roles in Grab Boy or other Mediatech projects.

Professional Training by Director Julian Lim

Learn to Act Without Acting the Zero Act™ System Selected talents will undergo a 5-week intensive acting workshop. During this training, actors will be taught the Zero Act Method: 5-core performance system developed to build authentic, powerful screen presence.

Understand the Story: Analyze the script and internalize your character’s objectives and inner journey.
Subtext & Emotional Link: Develop emotional depth and discover the unsaid meaning behind every word.
Imitate: Observe, mimic, and refine external behavior using internal intention and rhythm.
Re-creation: Reconstruct the role using your own truth and body memory to achieve genuine embodiment.
Zero Act: Reach a state of instinctive, unconscious performance act without acting.Even first-time actors will be transformed into screen-ready performers through the Zero Act System.

During training, we will provide:

Upon official contract signing, all selected actors will be entitled to the following support:

Accommodation：Free housing will be arranged for talents who are not based in the Kuala Lumpur area.
Living & Transportation Allowance：During the 5-week training and rehearsal period, each selected actor will receive a allowance of RM 300 for the entire duration, regardless of role or casting category. This is to help cover travel expenses for weekly in person training sessions.
Meals Provided: Three full meals will be served daily during the training period.
Medical & Personal Insurance：All selected talents will be covered under personal accident and medical insurance, effective from the start of training until the completion of filming.

Salary & Payment Terms

Actor salaries will also follow the A / B / C List system, based on role and workload.

50% of the agreed salary will be paid before filming begins.
The remaining 50% will be paid upon completion of filming.

Important Notice:If any actor fails to follow production protocols, violates training rules, withdraws mid production, or is dismissed for misconduct, MediaTech reserves the right to terminate the contract immediately without compensation. In such cases, all salary payments will be forfeited.
